Deputed by the delegation to walk Mercer to the bridge and witness him take the captain's chair — so the delegations can say afterwards that they watched. Carries a tablet against her chest "like a thing that might still ring." The senior surviving Geneva figure after Mercer; the bloc's institutional voice.
